On May 24 Mr. Grant Clauser the 2010 Poet Laureut for Montgomery County came to unlease our creativity. Druing his visit he taught us that poems just are poems; they don't have to be analyzed. We walked around and collected details about items we saw in nature in our cup. We then generated poems from what we saw.

My World In my world, the trees blow. Is it beautiful? The answer is not no.In my world, there is a slight breeze, Which is something that will never cease. In my world, the sky is clear. Everyone loves that, even the deer. In my world, the grass is green. These days, that is always seen. In my world, pretty birds sing. They sing, and sing, then take on wing. Then, they fly above the clouds. In my world, it isn’t loud. In my world, the Sun beats down, Always making it warm, never making me frown. The problem with this world of mine Is that it is inside my mind. It is not ready, It is not set. My beautiful world hasn’t been invented …… yet. Outside
Outside things always happen.Ants crawling around,Or just some birds looking. In the fields grass needs cutting,Buttercups everywhere.Trees growing really highWith rocks underneath.
Lots of cars riding aroundOn a street as far as the eye can seeGoing somewhere fast.
There are lots things outside,Just go ahead and look. You’ll find many interesting thingsWaiting to be discovered.
My Ant
I have a fast ant.
His name is Fant.
We went on a trip.
I did a bog cool flip!
We used a yellow car,
To go pretty far.
We went to the park.
Fant saw some bark.
We saw a green three leaf clover.
We it couldn’t roll over.
I saw a gray rock,
Shaped like a flock.
Fant saw yellow buttercups.
He knew they weren’t called fluttercups.
The Goldfish
Goldfish, Goldfish,
Can’t eat from a dish.
That’s why you can’t swim high.
I pray that you won’t go away.
All you do is eat, eat, eat,
Like you go to a restaurant to get a seat,
Like a computer is over loading,
While the fish is exploding.

Bird on a bench, staring at a tree
Tree with a hole
Eyes staring at a tree
Wire across the field, sewer holes on the ground.
All are thinking, on the tree, what is it?
Skunk? Bag? Or mystery, the skunk
Glorifying all.
Soon,
Everyone is staring but thinking

In my eyes I see bug. Walking oh so free But in my mind I see a bug Working as hard as can be.
The grass is growing Hiding the bugs
From a distance you see the dandelions But when you get close you are surprised to see A buttercup as yellow as can be. Trash on a bench, Ant hills kicked down, What’s with the world these days?

An Unknown object lying by a tree That blackish ant that almost bit me. There was a worm that got painfully ran over And that greenish white leaf that was a like a land rover. Grass in the sidewalk cracks A tan car’s doors are open Yellow flowers dotting the grass A pathway leading to a bench 8 small trees in lines Many cars passing by A robin looking for food A sandbag by a tree Busy ants by a tree Leaves swaying in the breeze Buttercups on the ground Busy birds to be found. The smell of spring is in the air Nature, Nature everywhere. Marigolds and bees are here The sound of buzzing in my ear. Critters of all shape and size They rush about by sunrise The season spring now in the air, Mother Nature is everywhere.

Stars
Sparkling, shining, twinkling in the night, Blinking, winking, light so bright, High up, so far away, I guess that's where the stars will stay.
Pop, blast, crackle, boom! My microwave jumped out of the room. Panting as I run after it, I run until I'm so tired I have to sit. Bam! Crash! Boing! I fall, I crash into the microwave into the wall. Next time I'll remembered to stop the popcorn, Because I don't want this happening anymore.
